Turmeric is one of those spices that you either love or hate. I used to hate the taste of it, which is mostly my fault because I added way too much and it was way too strong. It’s quite the powerful root, with anti-inflammatory properties. I usually put a sprinkle of it in most of the things I make. It makes the food look exciting and also gives a boost to the immune system.

We all want to know what something is supposed to look like while we’re cooking, do we not? Maybe it’s just a me thing, but nothing is worse than trying a new recipe and having no idea what it’s supposed to look like as you go along.

Let’s live long and prosper while drinking Golden Milk.

  • Cooking Time: 10 mins
  • Total Time: 13 mins

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 Cups Coconut Milk *

  • 1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil

  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric or Curcumin

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper *
  • 1/2 Teaspoon ground or grated Ginger
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Honey

GUIDE / INSTRUCTIONS
  • In a medium saucepan, add all the ingredients and bring to a gentle boil.

  • Stir regularly for 3-5 minutes until almost boiling.

  • Take off of heat and drink immediately.

  • If you like cold drinks, add ice cubes to a mug and pour the Golden Milk over it. Now you have a Turmeric Latte.
NOTES

* Coconut is my favorite for Golden Milk because it’s creamier but you can use any milk, really.

** This may sound strange but black pepper helps your body absorb Turmeric. If you don’t add the pepper, you’re not gonna get half as many benefits.
