I devoured this book: A Crane Among Wolves. Seriously. I read it in half a day. All 359 pages of goodness. I’m a sucker for k-drama vibes and this book really hits the sweet spot.

A Crane Among Wolves by June Hur is about Iseul who lived a mostly sheltered life with her older, (nagging) sister. It is based during the Joseon Dynasty and boy does it pull you in.

Her sister, Su-yeon, get taken by the tyrant and Iseul will do anything to get her back.

On the other hand, we have Dae-hyun, the half-brother of the evil tyrant. Oof I get shivers just remembering.

We’ve got treason, plotting, murder, and the type of romance that is dangerous!

Ugh it’s so good.

At first, Iseul is a little snot, not appreciating anything but then oof, she get a dose of reality and she fights for what she wants.

And Dae-hyung????? ARGHGHHGHGHG

“Hwang Iseul,” his voice rasped, his hands gripping tight onto my skirt, “if by any chance we do not meet again in this lifetime, then I will find you in the next- or as many lifetimes it takes to see you again.”

AHHHHHHH. I’m still not over A Crane Among Wolves. I can’t, I can’t.
